1. What are cookies?
kistenreg.nl uses cookies and similar technologies. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer, phone or tablet when you visit our website. Among other things, we use a cookie of our own to remember your cookie choice.
Cookies help us make the site work properly and, if you consent, understand anonymously how the website is used so that we can improve it.
2. Consent and Google Consent Mode v2
On your first visit we show a cookie banner with three options: Reject, Preferences and Accept. Analytics and marketing cookies are only set after you click Accept, or switch categories on in the preferences panel. If you choose Reject, they are not set.
We use Google Consent Mode v2 for this. As long as you have not made a choice or have rejected, analytics storage, ad storage and ad personalisation are set to denied by default. In that case Google may still receive anonymous, aggregated signals (without cookies and without you being individually identifiable) to enable basic statistics.
3. Which cookies do we set?
We divide the cookies on our site into three categories:
Functional (always active)
These are needed for the website and your preferences to work properly. No consent is required for them.
- kr_consent: remembers your choice in the cookie banner so we do not show it on every visit. Set on .kistenreg.nl so the choice also applies on app.kistenreg.nl. Retention: 1 year.
- kr_lang: remembers the language you pick in the language menu, so we do not send you to the language of your country. Only set when you pick a language. Retention: 1 year.
Analytics (only with consent)
We use Google Analytics 4 (loaded through Google Tag Manager) to measure anonymously how visitors use our site (which pages are viewed, for how long, from which source). These cookies are only set after you have clicked "Accept" or switched on analytics in the preferences panel.
- _ga: used by Google Analytics to distinguish visitors. Retention: 2 years.
- _ga_*: used by Google Analytics to keep track of the session state. Retention: 2 years.
Google Analytics 4 processes IP addresses anonymised by default. We have not allowed Google to use this data for other Google services or for remarketing.
Marketing (only with consent)
We use the Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram) to measure the effectiveness of our ads and to show more relevant ads. Limited information about your visit and actions (such as a form request or a contact click) may be shared with Meta. These cookies are only set, and data is only shared, after you have clicked "Accept" or switched on marketing in the preferences panel.
- _fbp: used by Meta to recognise browsers and devices for advertising purposes. Retention: 3 months.
- _fbc: stores click data from a Meta ad for attribution. Retention: 3 months.
- kr_vid: a random visitor ID set by Kistenreg itself. It is sent along as a pseudonymous identifier when we report a request or contact click to Meta through the Conversions API, so Meta can link it to the right ad. Set on .kistenreg.nl so the website and the app use the same value, and only after you consent to marketing. Retention: 3 months.
4. Withdrawing or changing your consent
You can withdraw or change your choice at any time. Click the button below: your choice is reset, any tracking stops immediately and the cookie banner appears again so you can make a new choice.
5. Your rights regarding your data
You have the right to access, rectify, restrict and erase personal data. You also have the right to object to the processing of personal data and the right to data portability. You can exercise these rights by emailing us at kistenreg@byte24.nl. To prevent misuse we may ask you to identify yourself adequately.
6. Blocking and deleting cookies in your browser
Besides our cookie banner, you can always block and delete cookies yourself in your browser settings. If you delete all cookies, your cookie choice is deleted too and the banner will appear again on your next visit.
7. Embedded content from third parties
Pages may use content hosted on other sites (for example YouTube videos). These third parties may set their own cookies through their embed codes. 8. Changes
